We are a vessel for the creation of opportunities for the underrepresented, and we hope to ignite a vehicle for change as our initiatives resonate with others.
Our ongoing initiatives establish a cyclical community impact. By listening, collaborating and giving back, we enrich communities that we are a part of, and others we want to empower.
Manuel Mathieu’s first fund, Marie-Solange Apollon, was started to help diversify artists at the Museum of Fine Arts. Mathieu has since funded a new program at AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, also in his grandmother’s name. The program aims to encourage research on the practices of artists in the Black Atlantic and the Global South. Manuel Mathieu’s initiatives aim to shed light on those whose lives have historically remained in the shadows.
